University of Bordeaux Montaigne has always been a destination of choice for students from overseas of all origins. Each year, there are approximately 120 different nationalities among students enrolled at the university.

Course Offering:
- Prerequisite: Students must have completed at least French 2 by the beginning of the program,
- 3 credits, Intensive French Language and Culture
- Class time is 20 hours of weekly classes, across 3 weeks, which amounts to 60 hours of classes for the whole session. Students are required to participate in the cultural activities (2 per week) in order to earn the full 3 credits. See activities HERE.
- Placement exam will be online in the several weeks prior to July. 3 credits will transfer in at level you next need

NOTE: This is a Direct Enroll Exchange Program. All tuition and fees, room and board, and other expenses to be paid directly to the host institution, or by other arrangement. UMass Lowell will charge a $300 fee.
The Campus
Thanks to the tram network, the university campus has been brought closer to the heart of the city center of Bordeaux. Since June 2007, the city of Bordeaux has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in recognition of the unity of its exceptional urban heritage.

Bordeaux is a fantastic place to live, with countless cultural venues across the wider metropolitan area offering concerts and performances of the highest quality. The city is just three hours from Paris by TGV and lies at the heart of the stunning Aquitaine region, with its celebrated vineyards and pine forests, ocean coastline, and lofty mountains.
