Course Information
This course is a 3-credit advanced elective, focused on the medium of photography and will take place in the spring semester of 2022. Through readings, research, and image-making students will work on developing their visual storytelling skills. A part of the course is an engagement with the large Azorean community living in Lowell, MA and exploration of their connections with the mid-Atlantic islands they left behind. Students with previous photography experience are encouraged to apply, but students from other humanities related programs would be strongly considered.

  • All courses qualify as Global Engagement courses within the River Hawk Experience Distinction (RHED)
  • All courses are open to Immersive Scholars
  • Honors College students can turn this course into Honors credit
  • Students w/out the proper prerequisites can see the professor for approval to enroll
Financial Aid/Scholarships:
  • Scholarships: Award will be in the amount of $500-$1000.00 per student. Students will be provided an application for the scholarships once registered. No action is required until then
    • The College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences will offer the "Dean's World Ready Scholarship"
  • Financial Aid:
    • Students who have a financial aid award package should meet with the financial aid office as this program is an added cost to the spring semester bill
