Shenkar College

About the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design:
Shenkar's uniqueness as an academic institution lies in the close ties between the two faculties: the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Design. While both the faculties maintain their own special character, they operate joint projects, designed to expose the students to various disciplines. The goal of the Faculty of Engineering is to provide a generation of engineers and managers who will influence the goals and processes of Israeli industry and business. The faculty aspires to be a center for the promotion of research and works closely with industry. This is done through the college's academic staff, which has at its disposal the Shenkar laboratories, workshops and centers all equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The Faculty of Design has set as its goal the promotion of design and its contribution to society, commerce and industry. The faculty serves as a center for the academic study of design, with the most up-to-date, relevant and forward-looking courses, while cooperating with external elements from the world of design and industry.
  • Shenkar is the first academic institution to operate a wireless campus. This allows dozens of students who have laptop computers to communicate with other users and to access both the college's network and the Internet.
  • Shenkar has achieved an international reputation and is recognized as one of the best institutions of its kind in the world. Graduates of the College are able to continue on to further studies at universities in Israel and abroad.
  • Shenkar graduates hold key roles in commerce, industry and the defense establishment, as well as in R&D and the civil service. Among the graduates of the Faculty of Design are designers many of whom have earned an international reputation.
  • Studies at Shenkar are conducted in Hebrew. Overseas students are able to study at Shenkar if they meet the academic criteria and have a good working knowledge of the Hebrew language.
  • Students can take courses offered in a variety of engineering departments including Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Plastics, and Software Engineering. Departments of Design are also available.

Important: The courses should be chosen at one faculty only to which the application is consequently sent. It is also necessary to select primarily courses corresponding to the student‘s major at the home university so that the application could be forwarded to a specific department. Only a minor part of courses not corresponding to the major may be selected.
  • Only after the admission by the relative school, the student may apply to one or two courses at another Shenkar faculty.
  • Courses offered to the Erasmus program students are available for non-European exchange students.
